Igbinosun is a long armed high wasted athlete that is built more like a WR than a CB which shows up on tape. His ability to flip his hips and run with just about anybody in a straight line/down the field is eye catching but when he reaches top speed his ability to stop and start leaves a lot to be desired. His man coverage reps (especially in press) are promising as he shows the ability to flip his hips well and use his length to stay in phase with receivers despite a lack of stop and start ability but while in zone he looks like a completely different player. When dropping in zone his hips are stiff and his feet are choppy which leads to him losing balance and unable to break on routes/balls. While he shows good effort in the run game and a willingness to tackle he is instantly taken out of plays if/when someone gets hands on him. While there’s a lot to be desired in terms of technique he has a unique body type, is a plus athlete, and looks to be a high effort player that should be able to contribute on special teams while a DBs coach is able to get him up to speed and a more reliable player as a CB.

Positives

  • Long Frame
  • Long strides make him cover more ground then foot speed indicates
  • Looks so much more natural and comfortable in man
  • Flashes really good mirroring skills with ability to sink and flip hips
  • Shows effort in run game but tackling technique is inconsistent at best
  • Long arms allow him to stab without even moving his feet

Negatives

  • High Waisted (Looks like a WR)
  • Inconsistent in tackling but shows effort
  • Stiff and uncomfortable in zone drops but looks much more natural in man
  • Struggles to stop his momentum when in full stride as he has longer strides but makes up far more ground than he shows
  • Block avoider – If you get hands on him he’s more than likely getting stuck on the block and taken out of the play
  • Feet look sloppy and hips are stiff when getting depth in zone at times (Looks unnatural to him)
  • Handsy player throughout routes and gets caught doing so far too often (Penalties will be a major concern at the next level)
